It is a moment of immense pride for the BHE team.
We are thrilled to announce that our colleague, Péter Richárd Zsombok, has secured Third Place at the prestigious 2025 Global Electronics Association Hand Soldering World Championship in Munich.
Held during productronica, the world’s leading trade fair for electronics development, the competition represents the pinnacle of manual assembly craftsmanship. It brought together the “best of the best” 15 regional champions from 12 countries, including Japan, France, the UK, China, and Mexico, to compete on a global stage.
The championship wasn’t simply about how fast someone could work—it was a real demonstration of precision and craftsmanship. Competitors were challenged to complete a complex circuit board assembly within a strict 60-minute time limit.
The judging panel evaluated the results based on the highest industry benchmarks: the IPC-A-610 Class 3 criteria. In the world of electronics, Class 3 represents the highest standard for reliability and performance, leaving zero room for error.
The level of competition was exceptionally high, with barely any points separating the top contenders. Péter demonstrated incredible focus and skill, achieving a final score of 840 out of a maximum 887 points.
This outstanding performance placed him on the podium alongside representatives from major global industry players:
1st Place: Yan Yang, Zhuzhou CRRC Times Electric Co., Ltd. (China) – 871 points
2nd Place: Eva Gobet, THALES SIX GTS FRANCE SAS (France) – 843 points
3rd Place: Péter Richárd Zsombok, BHE Bonn Hungary Electronics Ltd. (Hungary) – 840 points
