Description
The BUSR13 is an indoor redundancy switch for frequency converters manufactured by BHE. With the redundant switch and 2 similar up- or downconverter a 1:1 redundant system can be formed. One of the converters is the main converter, normally in use, while the other one is the backup converter. In case of the failure of the main converter the BUSR13 can detect the failure and automatically switches to the backup converter. With the redundant switch and 3 similar up- or downconverter a 2:1 redundant system can be formed. Two converters are used normally, while the third one is the backup converter (Figure 1.). In case of the failure of one main converter, the BUSR13 can detect the failure and automatically switches to the backup converter. This increases the reliability of the system significantly and the failured converter can be replaced without interrupting the service. The redundant switch can be controlled from front panel keypad and LCD or through TCP/IP and RS422. The BUSR13 can forward commands to the frequency controllers through RS422. The reference signal is also splitted and routed to the individual converters. The redundancy switch has two power supplies to further increase reliability.
